Dar-es-Salaam Tour Overview

This tour gives you a taste of the best places to visit in Tanzania. It sprawls over 5 million hectares, comprising miombo woodlands, open plains, wetlands, and the Rufiji River. Nyerere National Park has a higher density and diversity of species than any other miombo woodland area. It is a key landscape for endangered wild dogs, which share the reserve with plenty of crocodiles, lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, black rhinos, buffalo, and more than 400 bird species.

Dar-es-Salaam Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

We will pick you up from the airport or your hotel, and will then proceed to Nyerere National Park for an afternoon boat safari. On this boat safari, you can see everything you would normally see on a short safari, plus any other wildlife that is along the water’s edge at the time. It’s common to see giraffes, impalas, warthog, and – a highlight for those with good luck – elephants bathing or crossing the river. Today you will also participate in nature walking in the village near the park where you will also spot some animals.

Day 2

Explore Nyerere National Park

On this day, we will enjoy a half-day game drive in the park. Later in the afternoon, we will drive back to Dar es Salaam to drop you off at the airport.
